Private Singing Lessons for Beginners, Intermediate, and Advanced Singers
Private Singing Lessons in Arlington, TX
If you’ve always wanted to sing but feel nervous, unsure, or embarrassed about your voice, you’re not alone. A lot of students start singing lessons feeling self-conscious, especially if they’ve never had vocal training before.
At Ryan Waller Music Lessons, my goal is to make voice lessons feel comfortable, encouraging, and easy to understand. Whether you’re a complete beginner, a growing singer, or someone who wants more control, range, and confidence, we’ll work at your pace and build your voice one step at a time.
Our singing lessons focus on healthy vocal technique, breath support, pitch, tone, vocal control, and songs you actually enjoy singing. In-person lessons are available at our studio in Arlington, with students also coming from Fort Worth, Dallas, Grand Prairie, and Mansfield. Virtual singing lessons are also available for students who prefer learning from home.
Why Choose Our Singing Lessons?
Every voice is different, and every student comes in with different goals. Some students want to sing with more power and confidence. Some want help staying on pitch. Others want to prepare for performances, auditions, recording, or simply feel less nervous singing in front of people.
Our lessons are built around where you are right now. You don’t have to walk in sounding polished or confident. That’s what lessons are for. The goal is to help you feel more comfortable using your voice, understand what’s holding you back, and build better habits one step at a time.
We’ll work on the technical side of singing, like breathing, pitch, tone, range, and control, while also making sure you’re learning in a way that feels enjoyable and encouraging, instead of intimidating and overwhelming.
Beginner Singing Lessons
Beginner singing lessons are for students who are new to vocal training, nervous about singing, or unsure where to start. You don’t need to know how to read music, understand theory, or already sound “good.” We’ll start with simple, practical exercises that help you feel more in control of your voice.
Beginner exercises will mainly focus on:
Proper breathing and breath support
Pitch matching and vocal accuracy
Basic vocal warmups and exercises
Developing tone and vocal control
Building confidence while singing
Students also begin learning songs they enjoy, which helps make the learning process fun and motivating!
Intermediate Singing Lessons
For singers who already have some experience and want to develop stronger technique and musical expression, our lessons will focus on:
Expanding vocal range
Improving tone quality and resonance
Strengthening breath control
Developing vocal agility and flexibility
Interpreting songs with emotion and expression
Students also work on more challenging songs, developing their own vocal style, gaining more control over their voice, and building confidence performing in front of others!
Advanced Singing Lessons
For experienced singers who want to refine their technique and push their vocal abilities further, our lessons will include:
Advanced breath support and vocal power
Expanding and stabilizing vocal range
Advanced vocal runs and agility
Stage performance and vocal stamina
Recording preparation and performance coaching
Lessons at this level focus on helping singers develop a unique artistic voice while maintaining healthy vocal technique and working toward goals such as performing live, recording music, or preparing for auditions!
In-Person and Online Singing Lessons
Singing lessons are available in person at our Arlington studio or online if that works better for your schedule.
In-person lessons are a great fit if you want hands-on coaching, immediate feedback, and a focused lesson environment. Online lessons can also work well for students who prefer learning from home or need more flexibility.
Either way, our lessons are structured around your goals, your experience level, and the type of music you actually want to play.

Frequently Asked Questions

Not at all. You don’t need to already be a “good singer” to start lessons. In fact, that’s what lessons are for!
A lot of students begin because they feel unsure about their voice, have trouble staying on pitch, or just don’t feel confident singing in front of other people yet. We’ll start wherever you are and build your voice step by step in a relaxed, supportive way.
-
Absolutely. Pitch and tone are two of the biggest things we work on in singing lessons, and they can both improve with the right practice.
If you struggle to stay on pitch, match notes, or feel like your voice sounds thin, strained, or inconsistent, we’ll slow things down and work on it step by step. I’ll help you hear what’s happening, make small adjustments, and build better vocal control over time.
The goal isn’t to make your voice sound like someone else’s. It’s to help you understand your own voice and bring out a clearer, stronger, more confident sound.
-
That’s totally normal. Singing can feel really personal, especially when you’re doing it in front of someone for the first time. Lessons are designed to be relaxed, supportive, and low-pressure. You won’t be judged, rushed, or expected to sound perfect. We’ll take things at your pace, build confidence gradually, and help you feel more comfortable using your voice one step at a time.
-
Not at all. If anything, voice lessons will help you learn how to sing in a healthier, more comfortable way. A big part of lessons is learning how to use your breath, support your sound, and avoid pushing or straining your voice.
We’ll work at a pace that feels comfortable for you, and if something ever feels tight, forced, or uncomfortable, we’ll adjust. The goal is to build your voice safely while helping you feel more confident when you sing.
-
Of course. Proper breathing and vocal technique are a big part of singing lessons, but I try to teach them in a way that feels practical instead of overwhelming.
We’ll work on things like breath support, posture, vocal control, tone, range, and reducing strain, then apply those ideas directly to songs you enjoy singing. The goal is to help your voice feel stronger, easier, and more natural. Not to make singing feel stiff or overly technical.
-
You certainly can. I want lessons to feel connected to the music you actually enjoy singing. Whether you’re into pop, rock, country, worship, musical theatre, R&B, or something else, we can use songs you like to work on pitch, tone, breathing, range, and confidence.
The goal isn’t just to run vocal exercises every week; it’s to help you understand your voice through music that feels exciting and meaningful to you.
